How I got started
Looking back, I think my interest in radio first began when I was in kindergarten. I saw a taxi driver talking over the radio and thought, “That’s so cool!”
Years later, during my first year of high school, my good friend JG8DIV—who was the student council president at the time—was operating our school’s club station for a special event at the school festival. That was when I rediscovered radio! (Haha.)
JG8DIV taught me a lot, and with his encouragement, I attended an amateur radio training course and obtained my license. That was the beginning of my journey in amateur radio.
Favourite operating style
Lately, I’ve been busy developing HamLab and haven’t had much time to get on the air. However, I occasionally call CQ on HF or V/UHF as a refreshing break.
I can enjoy FT8 while working, so I usually keep it open in the corner of my screen and try calling any interesting stations that appear!
Goals & current interest
My goal is to make amateur radio more convenient and enjoyable through HamLab, a cloud-based logging platform that I am developing.
By bringing logging, QSL cards, awards, and connections with fellow operators together in one place, I hope to grow HamLab into a service that will be used and loved by amateur radio operators in Japan and around the world for many years to come.
